Psalm 116

10.10.10.10

1I love the Lord, because He hears my voice;
He hears the cry for mercy which I give.
2Because He turned His ear to answer me,
I’ll call upon Him as long as I live.

3The cords of death ensnared, entangled me;
The grave’s dark anguish, sorrow like a sea.
4Then I called on the name of God the Lord:
“O Lord, come rescue and deliver me!”

5The Lord is gracious, full of righteousness;
Our God has great compassion upon all.
6The Lord protects the simplehearted ones;
He saved me, when in great need I did call.

7Now be at rest again, once more, my soul;
The Lord has been good to you in all things.
8For Lord, You have delivered me from death,
My eyes from tears, my feet from stum-bl-ing.

9Thus, I shall walk before the Lord, my God,
In the land of the living, bright as day.
10I believed e’en when I said, “I’m distressed.”
11“All men are liars,” I said in dismay.

12What shall I render, then, unto the Lord,
For all His goodness, and His love to me?
13I will lift up the cup of salvation,
And call upon the Lord’s name earnestly.

14I will fulfill my vows unto the Lord;
May it be in the presence of His saints.
15For precious in the sight of God the Lord
is e’en the death of all His faithful saints.

16O Lord, I am Your faithful servant true,
You’ve loosed my chains, the son of Your handmaid.
17I’ll sacrifice a thank off’ring to You,
and call upon the Lord’s name unafraid.

18I will fulfill my vows unto the Lord
within the presence of His saints abroad;
19Within the courts of the house of the Lord,
In your midst, O Jerus’lem. Praise the Lord!
