Psalm 120

C.M.

1I call the Lord in my distress
and He does answer me.
2O save me, Lord, from lying lips
and tongues that speak deceit.

3What will He do to you, O tongue,
Deceitful as you be?
4He’ll punish you with arrows sharp
and coals of the broom tree.

5O woe to me that I sojourn
and dwell in Meshech’s land;
6I am a pilgrim living where
the tents of Kedar stand.

7Too long I’ve lived where peace is scorned
and hated and abhorred;
I am for peace, but when I speak,
they only are for war.
