Psalm 84

C.M. D

C.M.

1How lovely is Your dwelling place, Almighty God and Lord!
2For my soul yearns and even faints to be within Your courts!
My heart and flesh cry out in me, for God, the living God—
Your presence is where I would be; I long for You, my God!

3The sparrow even found a home, the swallow found a nest,
Where she may have her young near You, and at Your altar rest.
3/4O Lord Almighty, King and God, how bless-ed are those who
4dwell in Your house where they may be forever praising You. Selah

5How bless’d are those who find their strength in You, their God and King;
Who set their hearts on pilgrimage, and in Your presence sing.
6Through valleys filled with tears they pass, make it a place of springs,
The autumn rains do cover it with pools which the rain brings.

7They go from strength to strength until before God they appear;
8O listen, God of Jacob and O Lord Almighty, hear!Selah
9Now look upon our shield, O God, on Your anointed one;
O look with favor on the face of Your anointed one.

10Much better is a day within Your courts where You abide
than thousands where the wicked dwell, who are not on Your side.
For I would rather be a slave, a keeper of the door,
Than live with those in wicked tents who do the Lord ignore.

11The Lord is both a sun and shield, and favor He bestows,
And no good thing does He withhold from those whose way He knows—
From those who walk in righteousness, in upright ways and true.
12O Lord Almighty, bless’d are those who put their trust in You.
