Psalm 143
87.87 D
1Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen,
On Your mercy, my hope’s stayed.
In Your faithfulness, give answer;
In Your righteousness, give aid.
2Do not bring me into judgment;
none are righteous in Your sight.
No one living is found righteous
when before You in Your light.
3For the enemy pursues me,
crushes me down to the ground.
He makes me to dwell in darkness,
like those dead, who can’t be found.
4So my spirit faints within me,
and my heart’s filled with dismay;
5I remember days of old and
meditate on all Your ways.
6I spread out my hands before You,
my soul thirsts like a parched land.Selah
7Answer quickly, my soul faints, Lord,
Hide not, lest I sink in sand.
8Let the morning bring me word of
Your unfailing love to me;
For I’ve put my trust in You and
lift my soul up unto Thee.
Show to me the way to walk in;
I lift up my soul to You.
9Rescue me from all my foes, Lord,
For I hide myself in You.
10Teach me how to do Your will, for
You alone, You are my God;
May Your Spirit lead me on to
level ground that’s smooth and broad.
11For Your name’s sake, Lord, preserve me,
In Your care, let my life stay.
In Your righteousness, revive me;
bring me out of trouble’s way.
12In Your faithful lovingkindness,
silence all my enemies,
And destroy those who afflict me;
I’m Your servant; hear my plea.
